Once we arrived in Krabi we were transferred to another Mini Van so the driver could drop us all at our hotels. After a scratch of his head and a few U-Turns our driver dropped us at Ao Nang Putawana Resort, and it seemed our hotel had gone from good (Bamboo Beach in Phuket) to even better. Putawana set us back $20 a night, and is pretty damn luxurious, we were happy, as my face explains. Not long after dumping our things we hired a bike and headed into town for some of the best Indian we have had in a while, the best thing about being in Ao Nang was that all food was discounted due to it being low season, definitely a pro even though the weather can be a con.
For the rest of the afternoon we explored the town a little bit, knowing we wouldn’t have much time as we were only spending 3 nights at Ao Nang Putawana. At night we were laying in bed getting ready for sleep when out of the corner of my eye I spotted a light zooming around, I screamed “FIREFLY” so loud that I'm surprised the poor little thing survived. Justin jumped out of bed and caught the little fella so we could hold him, which was a highlight of our trip so far!
The ride itself took us a good hour and a half, and despite what you may think, our butts are no better at this than they were day 1 in Bali.
We quickly jumped on our bike in attempt to beat the crowd, on our way to The Emerald Pool we saw a sign for ‘Rons Waterfall’, we decided to turn and see what it was, so did the bus, apparently. We paid our entrance fee and scuttled to the front of the mob. When we reached the waterfall it was more than beautiful, made up of serval clear tiers made for swimming then eventually spilling out into the river. We only stayed here for about 5 minutes, I was becoming irritable from the crowd and Justin thought it was best to get a leg up on them and go to The Emerald Pool.
